Steam Injection System

The steam injection system plays a role in heavy oil projects, where injected steam is used to stimulate a reservoir’s production. The modeling of a steam injection system contemplates water and gas requirements, and the associated costs and capacity constraints.

PetroVR uses specific Units for steam volume and steam rate, where a liquid unit label is characterized by a prefix CWE = "Cold Water Equivalent". Thus, 1 CWE bpd expresses the amount of steam equivalent to 1 bpd of cold water.

The actors involved in the generation and injection of steam are:

In Thermal projects, a pane Steam Injection Options is shown in the reservoir Injection Tab, with options similar to those of water and gas injection.
